Setting eggs tonight! Anyone want to join me?

if you have a very dark room, a very bright light (a 7 or 9 LED flashlight is great) you might be able to see something, but don't count them as duds just yet, I don't remove eggs I'm not sure about till day 18 without any problem

when you use a LED flashlight don't forget to add the tape around the light so the light doesn't escape around the egg

Should I be able to see anything if I candle on day 5? Does yolk rise to top?

I Didnt see much on day 5. Yes The egg is more at the top of the egg (pointy end) I candled my eggs last night day 14, The pics arnt that clear

I'm in! I set mine on the evening of the 14th, and am also on the Ground Hog Day Hatch Thread.

We set:

12 blue/black/splash Orpingtons
10 mix of Aracanas - coiuld be a lavender, could be an olive egger.... Hmmmm
6 Banam Cochin
2 white leghorn mutts

Here is my set up with homemade bater. If anyone is wondering, this is the temp when I put the eggs in and turned on the bater. It took a a day of fiddling with dimmer switch but I have been at a constant 100-101. So far so good.

Ok, I just HAVE to know. What's up with the names on the eggs? We contemplated this over dinner tonight and came up with: A). Your not only counting your chickens before they hatch, you're naming them too; B). You have marked your eggs with the names of the hens that they came from, and apparently, one's named 'Bob' - coincidentally, our rooster's name. Cowgirl! Glad to see you, we are enjoying our BCM's. I've been meaning to send you a picture but am just having the darnest time uploading on the new system.

I set my eggs late on Sunday, so I'm almost at the end of day 3. I have seven BLRW eggs in my Brinsea mini advance.

I plan to put these guys to hatch on Webcam again. I had a lot of fun with people watching that.

Edited to add: I love to candle eggs around day 4-5. I can see the veins pretty well in the lighter colored eggs. I tried candling today at 2.5 days in, and I could ALMOST make out something, but not enough to get excited, so I'll (try to) wait a couple more days.

Patience? Are you out of your mind? Ok, I will take a deep breath now... I could take a vacation....and go into the next room. I am not a very patient grasshopper... Before I logged on tonight I did candle and see a small dot and what looks like some veins devoloping, so I am happy
