Setting my eggs tonight (April 10) Any tips?

throw a towel over the incubator if the power goes out. Don't open it, and keep fingers crossed. We just had a storm roll in too. It passed over quickly, and the sun is back out.

I'm so nervous I just bought more eggs on ebay! Beautiful all black Ameraucanas from an ABC breeder. I may be overrun with chickens here in a few weeks, but I figure once I weed out the excess cockrels it will be managable. Oh, and I bought a candler. Retail therapy.

I'm not opening the bator, though if none of them have pipped, I don't think it would be a disaster. Humidity is 62% and the air sacs look plenty big. NOW I'm worried if they're TOO big.

Someone needs to make a smilie sitting on its hands. dak

Well, guys, I have my trusty laptop, so I can keep ya' updated through the storm.

Eastin.. That storm should go thru fast. It passed over us quickly.

Don't give up on those eggs. They can take up to day 26 sometimes. Your only on day 19, so hang in there.

OMWord!!! I just went down to check my broody, I lifted her a little to see the eggs (now if you remember one had a pip) well when I lifted her up it peeped well she went all terror like on it. I grabbed (ouch) both the eggs and there now in the 'bator. The one she slammed with her beak I see blood. she was totally out to kill it. like something was after her eggs. man i'm glad it didn't hatch, she would of total killed it. Bad momma bad Momma
