Looks like a hen. The roos in Barred breeds are lighter
Hens will sometimes get some pretty impressive combs, depending on breed, too!

I candled the 1st batch again tonight. I have 4 no questions good ones, the other 4 it seems that at least the top half if not more of the egg is dark and I can't really see anything. Maybe I need to use a brighter light?I candled the first batch the other night and could see movement in 3 of the 8. The others were very hard to tell what was going on. The 3 are light brown the rest are med-dark brown. I may get another 'bator going by the weekend to seperate out anything that is questionable. I would hate to throw out a good egg just because I'm not sure what's going on in their. But I don't want to risk a bad egg messing up the lot.
Maybe so... I have a couple with darker/thicker shells so they're hard to be sure on. A brighter light would help you, that's for sureI candled the 1st batch again tonight.
