Setting the week of August 22 (or so... ) Everyone join!! You know you want to!

Thank you all.It was sold as a pullet..
I was thinking the tail feathers were short for a roo and its not agressive at all but that big comb now made me wonder.!!!.

I candled the first batch the other night and could see movement in 3 of the 8. The others were very hard to tell what was going on. The 3 are light brown the rest are med-dark brown. I may get another 'bator going by the weekend to seperate out anything that is questionable. I would hate to throw out a good egg just because I'm not sure what's going on in their. But I don't want to risk a bad egg messing up the lot.
I candled the 1st batch again tonight. I have 4 no questions good ones, the other 4 it seems that at least the top half if not more of the egg is dark and I can't really see anything. Maybe I need to use a brighter light?

Maybe so... I have a couple with darker/thicker shells so they're hard to be sure on. A brighter light would help you, that's for sure

Candled tonight... I'm going to leave them be now, till Saturday late (I am going to a county fair/poultry show, not taking birds) .... but I have 6 for sures and one maybe. :D One of them has a thick shell so I was almost ready to call it a loss (didn't see anything) when the little black eyeball dot started bouncing around! :D Pretty happy with even 6 out of this hatch. MOAR Seramas for MOI!

Anyway good luck with your hatch.

How are the hatches going? I have one that I am sure is infertile at this point. The other one I thought was a dud now has veining in it. wondering if it is possible to have late bloomers... For my next hatch i am definitely getting a turner. I don't think my turning is gentle enough.
