Setting the week of August 22 (or so... ) Everyone join!! You know you want to!

two of the Ameracuna chicks I hatched

A few of the chicks. we loved all the color

A shot of the brooder. It is amazing how fast the brooder gets dirty

I never said anything about Turkey, our broody hen, because I didn't think her eggs would hatch but they did.She has 3 chicks. She went broody and one day I had some pullet eggs in my hand and I just said sit on these, we can tell them from the other eggs. Turkey didn'tturn the eggs so we started turning them at 10 days. 3 showed improvements and all 3 hatched. We have winter comming on so I hope she cares for them well.
The chicks are tiny because they were pullet eggs. They were some of the first pullet eggs layed but we did have a rooster that was active. It is nice to have some of Showoff's chicks since he died.
Little bundles of fuzz... Where did you find such a long feeder? Mine are always about 6 or 8 holes .

Well I'm up to 5 pips on the ducks but one is on the wrong end!!!! Got one for sure on the chicks one maybe and one I cant see a Pip but it could be on the side I cant see.

So one duck has been pipped for over 24 hours (it seems to be starting to zip) one for right at 24 and one pipped this morning those 3 seem to be starting to zip

My temp is 99 and my humidity is around 78% (has been as low as 73% and as high as 81%) so do I need worry about my upside down baby? And if so, when?

I havexmy first hatch!!! And I saw most of it!!! Its one of my blue andalusian x's the ducks are still working along... I hope. Ill post pics later.

One if my Silkie Banting babies won't stop twitching her head even when she sleeps! What could cause this? I feel so bad for her.

She may have been pecked in the eye. This happened to my little australorp - I saw it happen but wasn't quick enough to prevent it. She twitched her head (not her eye, it stayed open like normal) for a full day. I felt so bad for the little one! They seem to like each others shiny eyes during those first couple days.
