Setting up the bator and setting shipped eggs this week....anyone else wanna join?

Good morning everyone, I have been super busy and not had time to get back on. The egg on closer inspection had not pipped after all. I was super disappointed . Today is day 22. I decided to end the misery. I picked up an egg and to my amazement there is loud peeping back in it went so was egg two. I will wait a bit more. My temp may have been a bit low. I was actually getting ready to pack everything and clean up so I could get ready to go to the mtns on the 31 of this month. I am already planning the next project up there. I have a new coop up there, but was to sick last fall to build nest boxes. So when I get there the nest boxes are first on my list of things to do. I put them under the roost , recessed under their poop tray, I can access them from inside or outside. Wish me luck, I want at least two little chicks.

Congrats crazyhen and good luck! My little one made it out finally. It got one burst of energy and was out in 15 minutes. I was worried as the membrane was starting to look a little dry but all seems good except for a tiny but of yolk that didn't absorb, but it's getting around ok well as good as it can for just plopping out of an egg that is lol!

I can barely wait to see what a Columbian Rock looks like at birth. I have seen my mixed Am and BCM already they are black fuzzys. I am still hoping for at least one more as all the eggs were full as of last candling.

Another baby out so exciting! Now 4 more that need to do something and hopefully they don't cause too much trouble we have to be out of town for the weekend and my mom is chicky sitting. I was hoping they would be all done before we need to leave but not gonna happen. They are in good hands though.

I have never had a hatch like this , It is day 23, day 22 yielded 2 chicks, one in am, one in early pm. While I slept last night and definitely not expecting more to hatch, another one hatched making three. I was outside moving my first chicks that are 5 weeks old into a pen that has an outside run this morning, another egg has pipped. What in heck? What caused this crazy hatching behavior? Can anyone venture a guess. Some facts I do know. The eggs were chilled in Shipment. They were Shipped eggs. My hatcher was a degree off. Anymore ventured theories that could have added to this quandary? Should I help this last egg out and finish this hatch?
