Sexing Barred Rocks

Hi! I have two Barred Rocks and I would love some help determining what gender they are! They are approx 2 weeks old. Thank you!

Welcome! Big red combs will be males. Also, when feathering out, males are lighter in color, females darker. Soon you will have a pretty good idea who's who.

They are a bit too young to tell, especially with barreds, as they both can have combs, you will, for now, have to go off of temperament. Good luck!

Really too young to determine but, males generally have yellow legs. Females have a dark wash over the yellow. 8 weeks of age would be a MUCH better time

little too soon, but here's what your looking for with the barring as they grow: Females will be noticeably darker, while the males will look noticeably lighter. Check in with us in a couple of weeks if you still have questions.
