Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

I've been politely nagging them - mainly because my dean is nagging me - and so far, it hasn't made a difference. You're not the first person to say two years is nothing for a book.
have they offered any concrete reason for the delay? if not, it's probably one or more of the editors themselves. In that case you might want to look for an alternative platform for your work. And remember never to write for them again unless the argument to join their venture is compelling. I've had stuff languish for over a decade

Apostrophes and affordances and editor smackdowns! I love this thread. But you know you all owe a ton of tax.

I'll donate some:

Caught in the act of fence fighting. When they tire of bobbing up and down and hackle flashing, they like to prove who's best at pecking the ground (a.k.a., the "best pecker" contest).

Wednesday afternoon, around 5pm, we had a fox attack. Two birds taken. Erica, a young Tsouloufati hen, and Lady Gaga, the serama rooster. I thought that there was a third one gone, but I just didn't count correctly

All the birds have been inside for the last couple of days, not sure how much longer I should be keeping them inside; they're not happy to say the least.

Both Lady Gaga and Erica will be missed, Lady Gaga especially by me and all his hens. He was a really good boy. His whole group will surely miss him. Erica will be missed the most by her best friend and sister, those two were always together. She was an easy going girl, and a really good flier.

A sort of tax if you will, my favourite photo of each bird.

Lady Gaga, posing with his daughters in the back. The splash girl I still have. She's the Ocean, the one who is co-mothering Ubon.

Erica, this was a photo taken on her first birthday. She always liked to forage under shrubs

I'm so sorry.

Sorry to hear you lost some of your birds. I know I'm still not over the loss of Skeksis, and it's been over 14 months now. I keep having dreams that she's still alive.

So sorry for your losses. :hugs
Mine were attacked 9am on a Wednesday and 2pm the following Saturday. I went to get them water and heard the panic
I have been letting them out around 9 am instead of sunrise.
I have been sitting out with them all day and yell when they alert. So something is still coming around. I heard coyotes last night.
