While it's true it is handy to know if a major storm is on its way the government warning on the phone came the day of the event. Not a lot of point in that. It's already happened. You don’t want to ‘not know’ if there is a chance something will happen like in the Valencia area. Better be safe than sorry.
So many warnings as you describe is ridiculous. Isn’t the amber alert for missing children. Sure they don't fall from the sky.
You should be able to disable some of those. Probably in the safety and emergency section of your phone's settings. While it's true it is handy to know if a major storm is on its way the government warning on the phone came the day of the event. Not a lot of point in that. It's already happened.
Now if they could let us know a week or so before those of us who have chickens or other pets and livestock have time to do something to secure coops etc.
Yesterday I took anything loose and likely to go mobile off whatever surfaces they happened to be on and stored them elswhere or tied/weighted them down.
The field coop fortunately is pretty robust and strong wind resistant. Other peoples coops may not fare so well in storm force winds.
I was thinking the same watching some of the pictures. Hopefully she will be able to check in tomorrow.I'm worried about @Perris They're on the coastline where things get wild.
VERY happy that I wasn't taking a sip of my tea when I read that! It would have been all over the laptop! So many warnings as you describe is ridiculous. Isn’t the amber alert for missing children. Sure they don't fall from the sky.
Glad they are OK - and wow, the coop did well!A few pictures of the damage.

A few trees down in the lane. No loss of life or limb at the field. It's just more mess to clear up.
One and half hours today. Still windy but at least the rain had stopped. Needless to write the chickens were not impressed with the weather. The coop survived unscathed and unmoved.
Another egg!View attachment 4002687
Henry trod on the edge of the feed tray when a wind gust caught his rear end and made him stagger. Plenty of wind resistance at Henry's rear end.
