I have an adult goose who has been shot in the face right under the eye with a pellet. I have removed the pellet and there is a dime sized whole in her cheek between the bill and her eye. It is not bleeding but goes all the way to the bone. What would I put on the wound to keep flies off since it is so close to her eye. Thank You for any help with this!!!!!

I do but she is totally afraid to be separated from the gander and her other two goose mates. I have 4 total One Gander and three Gooses. If I try to separate her she flails around desparately trying to get back to them. I thought if I kept her with them she would be calmer. I'm afraid to put anything on it since it is so close to her eye!

if it wasnt close to her eye id say super glue....
but maybe some vasolene??
or neosporan..

WHO WHOULD SHOOT A GOOSE!!!

A bunch of #$%^%$#$%%^&^% Pardon my language and not just a goose the sweetest most gentlest goose Miss Penelope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was afraid to use the Neosporin in case she wipes her cheek on her shoulder then injests the neosporin off her feathers! The flies are really bad right now so I am afraid of her getting magots in the wound!

i would use the vasolene..
out weighing her getting a little in her mouth or getting it REALLY INFECTED from maggots
she wouldnt get enough to hurt her.

I would use neosporin. Some even put neosporin in their eyes to cure infections so that is very safe. Super glue is always an option....
