Show me UGLY coops- where my peeps at?

Oh, man, I will have to look and find my pictures... I had to make something fast with materials I already had when my drake tried to kill the ducklings. It was not pretty... my neighbors probably hated me. It's still kinda there but used in a different way. My neighbors probably still hate me.

Baaahahahaha that cracks me up, I keep thinking the same thing!! I am trying to make the side that the neighbors can see the prettiest

I have a modified playhouse coop. Need a new one though. But it looks cute!

My uncle had an 'ugly coop'. It was really not that ugly (well actually maybe), but the biggest issues were it was not predator proof and it was very difficult to manage. We sometimes to go over to take care of their chickens when they are out of town (they are our neighbors) and it would take us forever as their setup was kind of impractical. They had a henhouse door you had to open and close every day and night, they had water and feed in their henhouse right below the roosts, their run was not walk-in and definitely not secure (the holes were bigger than chicken wire!) and other impracticalities.
Eventually all but one of their hens were killed by a weasel who got into their henhouse in the night (including my favorite of their hens, whom we had taken care of and let in our house because she was injured from a fox attack previously while free-ranging. )
They have a new run now, and an electric door, and have also fixed the henhouse so the fisher cats can't get in anymore. It's still not perfect, though.

I love the idea of a playhouse coop. They are so cute, and we had an old playhouse anyway. Part of the problem with mine is that it's a slightly curvier design than most, with kind of a faux stone look- so it's difficult to get any wood to sit flush. I eventually got it predator proof but could not keep the drafts out. I think it will end up being a doghouse instead.

That's awful! Poor chicks. I guess I can say at least mine will be practical. Plenty of room for a roost area, a place for water, and nesting boxes. We'll be feeding mostly outside the coop trying to prepare them for partial free ranging.

Ok, first is my absolutely beautiful garden box... obviously it was designed ONLY with FUNCTION in mind to keep out the critters and keep in the heat. It worked really well and I grew lots more stuff this year compared to any other, so I'm not really planning major modifications for next year.

Then is the duck coop/run when I started screwing on random boards and pallets and bits of fencing to add a separate drake jail/duckling playpen, and stop diggers from getting in... eventually it all got painted and cleaned up a bit, but it was like this for a few months.

I do not have any ugly coops. Well I do have one old coop that you could argue is pretty ugly. I do have one ugly run on the old coop that I threw together in a day. It is pretty much some 2x4 wire a few stakes in the ground and some netting on the top. The only predator that it can keep out is hawks but that is the only day time predator around here. I block them inside at night. I do not have a full picture.

It is pretty much a rectangle of wire that is connected to two sides of the coop and wraps around two metal stakes. It is around 5 feet tall and has netting covering the top.
