Hampton H300. May be a little fancy, but I have heard good things about them and I did not want another stove with a catalytic burner. The one we have have now is just an old steal firebox. Not very efficient and not much control.
I've probably said this before but oh well. I've got a pacific energy super 27. The plain black with legs. I think it was like $3400 for the whole deal with double wall stove pipe and the chimney. Some of them soapstone ones are nice but they're mostly too much for me.

The Hampton unit is cast iron. It was dumb luck for us. We stopped in the store while passing through the area and they were having a two day sale and there was a factory rep on the floor. He threw in a blower unit too. We had priced other stoves and it was too good to pass up. Installation and delivery were going to be ridiculous, so I opted to do that one myself.

Yeah. summer was tough on them, but lots of shade and sprinkler hoses did wonders. Only a 10-15% dead loss.
Yes, the heat can be deadly. Ever tried fans? It didn't take much, but the birds would learn to move in and out of the fans to regulate their temperature. They could at least figure that part out.

What do you do with the birds? Whole chickens or cut up in parts?

Whole. Then sold wholesale to restaurants and butcher shops.

There isn't any electricity in the fields to run fans. Sounds like a good idea though.

I'd defer to your judgment. Without being around Games much I'm not sure which would interest me more.

Still not sure I'm ready for them though.
Caring for them isn't overly difficult. Obviously you'll need at least a pen per stag/cock. As long as you can put together a few 4x4 or 4x5 pens you'll be fine.
