I chewed on it a bit today. Only an idiot would walk away from an opportunity like this.

Building some pens would not be an issue and I have room in the new sheep pasture.

The main issue I'm going to have is if they get out, they could fly over the pasture fence and go after the free range cocks. Hopefully, the only way they'ere gonna get out is when I'm messing with their pen and could get over and catch them before too much happens.

Also dubbing. I'll look around for someone who does it.
What is the nature of your free-range "cocks"?

The one in the middle?

Yes

By ten weeks i should see red in the hackles and shoulder i agree the combs a bit larger than the others but not red or as big as the stags. Mollted birds are really hard to tell and slow to mature so by 12weeks maybe we will see some saddle feathers starting. Ill keep an eye out on that one.

Cool... Id be more worried about those roosters coming up to the game pen and taunting the gamecock to kick wire.

The closest they can get would be about 100 yards. They can't fly over the perimeter fence. Nor do they go much further than 30 yards from the coop most of the time.

I could keep them in the run and just let the girls out if need be.

Yep, mottled birds with pea combs are very tough. Are the others stags you have penned separately?
