The eight chicks below do not carry silver allele yet I can not distinguish them from relatives that do carry it. If wheaton involved, then recessive. Pattern gene part of what it going on. I have waited 5 years to make pairing that would produce this range of patterns. It likely to produce phenotypes I have not seen in over 30 years. About half show spots laterally to dorsal stripe on head that corresponds to whirls you see in redquill chicks. This how they look on a light background.

thats cool. I never knew the mason jars fit.. I threw away several years ago because plastic cracked.
