Bummer he broke his leg, he looked pretty big.nope.. He broke his leg and wasn't able to eat and drink anymore which forced more me to do it. But now I am feeling easier about it.
Theyre past the 8 week point. but im not in a rush to slaughter. I am probably wasting money on feed by keeping them alive, but they still growing.
I bough killing cones and heat shrink bags... and have a big deep freezer setup...
just got to do it.
Yep people don’t properly research first. I got 4 now, they are pets, bird number 5 got disappeared while I was at work... I suspect the local Red Tail Hawk... she was not the brightest of the flock. But yes people need to face reality when ordering and raising chicks about some becoming dinner, or not making it, or the post office holding up delivery... heck post office killed a plant order I placed once.
The point of the article is to show what the Hsus thinks of chicken owners.Yep people don’t properly research first. I got 4 now, they are pets, bird number 5 got disappeared while I was at work... Glad to see you processed one! I am not trying to give you a hard time, but those legs don't look broken. A small percentage of meat birds have their legs "go out". Usually you see in in fast growing younger birds and it occurs at the joint. Again, not trying to give you a hard time, but those birds are bred for fast growth with proper nutrition. The breast width is often about 75% of the length. They can appear almost round.
I think you see poor animal care across the board. Some people just shouldn't own animals. The point of the article is to show what the Hsus thinks of chicken owners.
Definitely. I posted that link on another thread that was removed.I think you see poor animal care across the board. Some people just shouldn't own animals.
