A lot depends on what your doing with the bird I guess. Everyone has different ideas of what’s acceptable. I’ll take a slightly mean aggressive rooster over a “nice” rooster any day of the week.
I agree and disagree as I've been working on getting my roosters to get up on roost befor i pick them up. So far it's roosters 10, hillbilly 2

Also I never judge a bird by how they act getting them out of a small pen. Only once they’re out on a cord or with another rooster. Reaching into a tiny *ss pen and your putting his back up against the wall. If I was a rooster I’d nail your *ss too.
Can't argue that much lol. Same as taking a hen out befor you take the rooster out, you can expect a fight

I have one manfighter (kelso) I'm working with right now but he is off by himself on a cord getting worked with With kids anything can happen i have three 2,3,6 its best to keep them out of harms way I'll let them feed birds in pens but not be around corded birds period. The mug boy I got from havoc I can straight pick him up no matter what an he has an absolute hate for another rooster, but he's the best most gentle fella on my yard I still wouldn't let my young'ns around him it's to unpredictable with any cock.

Getting nailed by roosters can be a real turn off, for most... I wasn't the sharpest kid and nailed by many a mother hen with chicks. lol
Different strokes for different folks.
I’m not talking about attacking you but if you move too quick I have a few that might nail me. Again these are small domes. Once in my hand they’re totally fine, on a cord fine, in front of another rooster fine.
I’ve taken plenty of pictures with a bird in one hand practically falling asleep. I’m not raising mean birds. But I’ll take a little too aggressive bird over the timid every single time.
