I'll have to use a battery or solar controller. Cause it's about 150-175 ft out to the new set up of pens. If I'm gonna do it I gotta do em all

I'll have to really do some research on them tonight. I really don't even come rely understand how it all works. I'm a little confused whether or not I have to put up a whole new fence around my run or just add electric to it. The new area will be easier I guess cause it will just be electric. I figure I can't keep saying yeah yeah I'll look into it. One of these days I ain't gonna be so lucky. The fox is what worries me and if it stops them it will be worth it.

Plus doing that I would have two cords running out across the yard. In winter they will get destroyed.

There's a hot or positive and a ground connection on the box connect a wire from the ground connection to the ground rod and the positive connection connect one end of fence wire then run your wire one continuous run round and round till high enough

Sounds easy enough. What could go wrong? Lol

We use electric for a fruit trees and berries and have built several fences. SDM has the best approach, 110 with continuous charge. I haven't had luck with solar chargers, something always goes wrong. Ours are a distance from the house too and what we finally settled on what works best for us is a 5-10 mile fence charger that you can hook to a 12 volts deep cycle battery. You can get many months of life before recharging. SDM uses the solid wire, but I really like the thin nylon braided wire with SS wire woven into it. It is easy to work with and slightly elastic. A little piece of foil wrapped around the wire with some peanut butter is a great way to train the animals it's HOT.

Once u get the poles up buy a post pounder for 30.00 if u can't borrow one its a worth it's weight in gold. I put the first run of insulators 3 spots up on the post from the ground then every 4th spot up for 7 runs once u get going it's quick to put up
