They are doing great! I take a few minutes every evening to handle them. Nice birds and I still like the dark eyes. A couple of the little pullets have almost black eyes! Funny how it works sometimes... 7 chicks, 2 stags and 5 pullets

That's great 2 and 5 a quad and a trio. The black eyes on a dubbed grown cock bird sure looks cool

Centra I have 4 dogs. 2 of them are old 14 and 15. The other 2 are dobermans. Not much good for yard dogs. Lol

i have seen in the snow where a pair of foxes have both leapt up to the 4ft posts without touching any wire at all. I see they have screw in insulators which maybe I could mount directly on top of the post so I could run the wire along the very top. Either that or mount the extended insulators to the very top edge of the post where the hot wire would stick out away from the post. Also I have the existing wooden gates I'm still not sure how to do.

At TSC they have several gate (insulated) handles that allow you to open the gate with the charger running

Yep, if the gates are woven or welded wire, I use those insulated handles to stretch a few strands in front of the gate. As flypen said, you can just unhook the hot wires and open the gate as you normally would.

oh ok I guess that's what I was missing I would be able to unhook the hot wire running across the gate. Yeah I saw the the rubber handles for the gates. It would have been easier to just use the electric in the first place. Lol
