I bet he will that big old butcher stag I got is barely crowing yet hell he is living the life running free on 7 acers with some hens hitting them trees as night suttre builds a good bird Ihave been leaving my young ones in there pen Ihave a hawk that has been coming to my yard every day he sits right on top of the chick pen Iccan't stand to loose any of the birds I have out there now Iguess every one knows the felling got big plans for every single bird lLol...

She is a healthy hen just been in a lot of fights she had a short pen fight today with my blue muff stag and she was way more in to it than him and she is not a man fighter so that's a good thing it should be a good project for me I just can't wait to see how the birds I get out of her act these Cuban birds can be very hard to raise at times I've had them fighting in the incubator one time ruff little birds...

When I say conditioned I mean prepared to breed. A conditioned hen as I see them generally and briefly are at a weight that is considered overweight. They come into this weight just as they are about to commence laying. Such hens start walking about getting a blocky look and hold tail collapsed at a 45 degree angle above the horizontal. Cocks that hear / see such hens will also try to advertise nesting sites. With older hens I am trying to get into the mood, I pop the with an egg each day along with the premium feed to get them going. With some I even provide free-range access but that not appropriate for your current challenge. Try adding some ground pepper to her feed.

Caroteniods / vitamin A. I work with animals routinely that can have low hatch rates when egg yolks are yellow rather than the ideal orange to orange-red color. My assumption is the chickens may have similar issues when diet is dominated by grains. The pepper does appear to enhance appetite.

I'll try that she sure did need an overall when I got her she seems content by her self in her little pen as long as no one goes by her pen the young stags Iove to torment her and every time she gimps up to the pen and goes at them she walks with a limp from the broken leg she had in the past I have an old brood cock i'd like to breed her to but he is a man fighter that's probably not a good idea...

All u got to do is put your baddest cock with her let him breed her once pull him put do it again in 3 days And shell be good for a clutch of eggs. Pull the first 3 days of eggs after first mating

Try the above first. If she does not come into lay within a couple days of being covered then consider the conditioning approach. You will have options. Some more involved than others.
