I mean how long have you had the types of gamefowl. IMO it's not good practice to buy, breed and sell. That would = peddler. Not saying that's what your doing but I'm sure many people do. I would think someone who acquired a particular type of gamefowl would at the very least hold onto them for awhile to make sure they are good birds and do their best to select breeders that have the correct attributes for what American gamefowl should be.

Not to mention Gary Cooper (High Noon) sells from his website and ebay. Reasonable prices straight from the breeder. Seems to me that it would be a kick to the b*ll bag to undercut someone since he's the one that has most recently put in all the work to get those particular birds where they are today. there isn't a way to stop anyone from doing it though. Integrity i suppose would come into play.

I don't want to jump to conclusions but to buy a mans fowl he developed with the intent only to resell IS the exact definition of a peddler.

unless given consent by the original breeder, in which case that would be a dealer or reseller.

For me, that would apply only to actual birds produced in the hands of the original breeder. Subsequent generations from those originals would not qualify, even if breeder gave consent. I would be comfortable saying the subsequent birds were derived from the breeders stock but would be very careful to consider whether something else was bred in and state is clearly is so.

Were are starting to get into the patent realm which a real headache.
