Ultimately I think we all know what we want from our Games... and I am assuming it is the same thing... Just different ideas on how to get there.  Just another Conservative vs Progressive argument. lol

No I myself am gonna have to disagree
I don't give participation awards

It's a conservative thing

Haha... Dont pretend like you dont have stags that run from more dominant stags. Its part of the pecking order. Eventually all will turn dominant. Its just a matter of age and mental development...

The chaser is now penned. The runner is younger, but looks bigger because the chaser is Spanish cross.

I am keeping the Spanish cross because of his speed and early onset of gameness. But I guarantee that runner in that photo would destroy that Spanish cross once they reach full adulthood. Because of size, weight and strength.

Spanish Cross

At the age of those two ,they shouldn't be running ,part of your statement is correct by seperation it changes the Dynamics of the yard but once under hack and a stag/Roo recognize the aggressive Oppresser a Non Game Roo will fight for a moment then sull up and take to flight, , i seen it many times as i tried to explain it too my Farmer buddy that NO his Brahma wasnt From American Gamefowl, and pecking order in Games are defined only once if left unattended, we will have you culling /EATING some Shubin just you wait see ,ha

I find a delay in mental development (game) when they are free roaming with many older stags and cocks.

If I were to pen any around that age for a week or two, then release back into free range there will be fighting.

The pecking order holds tight until I start penning/seperating.

That Spanish cross ran from older stags... but he would test them on occasion... I equate it to play fighting... like any young animal would do... even the gamest pitbulls play fight as pups.

its part of the developing process.

And yes I try to select the best and cull the rest... I am not saying they all are going to make the cut. But I guarentee every one of my stags will be dead game upon reaching full maturity. I have never seen an adult gamecock (1 year + old) run.
