MOONLIGHT AND CHICKENS? My buddy at work had to have the Electric company come and take his outside polelight out of order ,,because his chickens would walk around most all night and not go up to roost Anyone Here ever see active chickens at night?

Are they loose? New to chickens?

I have a few pullets and stags that get down out of the trees a little earlier than I'd like but they are all in bed by dark. The only light I have on though is in my back deck which don't go too far.

Free Range Layer Chickens ,,Darndest Thing Hes Seen ,,I Think They Had An Area With Open Door And They Could Come And Go ,Im Sure He Now Shuts Em Up ,,But That Light Made Them Stupid Layers Walk Around All Night.

Because the nights are so long I think some of the younger chickens are eager to get down and eat after 12 hours of sleep. I see them jumping down at 5:45-6am when its still pretty dark.
