I went through and added straw to all 51 pens. One by one as soon as the straw hits the ground they come off the roost. I hate seeing them just sitting there. Good to get em moving. I throw scratch in the straw to get em moving a little more too.thanks looks what's the word I'm looking for.........cold
kids and lambs dangYep. Do not trust them if birds are well away from trees. For me the mean bad things when on ground. Dead kid or lamb, or maybe a fish kill.
Are these some of your free range? Do they roost inside the fence or outside in the trees?

I was talking with a friend the other day about Black Headed Vultures. He said they are becoming a problem around here because they go after new born calves and lambs. Seems like a learned behavior.kids and lambs dang
