Does anyone know which feed is better for gamefowl is the gamefowl poultry maintenance better or the gamefowl poultry conditioner[/
So the lumber mill messed up my lumber order. Went to pick it up this afternoon and they had a bunch of pine 2x4's laying there. I ordered oak 2x4's and 2x6's and 1x6's.

I think my order got mixed into another large order they had and thought the pine was mine.

Oh well. Lowes is up the road. Should have the new pens built soon. I should of just gone to lowes in the first place, but have never had an issue with the mill before.

I like to split 2X4's, cut your cost in half. No reason to build like it's Fort Knox.
I also use the $1.39 treated fence panels on doors, up-off-the-ground walk-way for feed and & water cups and anywhere needed.
Sometimes you can catch the treated lumber used for pool decks at a good buy

So I just thought about something. I have an old dog kennel laying around in the barn. I could put that up and divide it into 2 sections and throw a tarp over it for a roof. Easy and free except for the plywood to divide it.

I also saw online, somebody using 55gal drums standing up with a hole cut in the side for stags. Leash attached to the barrel. Looked cheap and efficient.

The dog kennel work great. The drum and cord setups do too as long as you don't have feathered or furred predators that could easily get to them

Yeah I use a 12x12 kennel with bird netting on top and a tarp on the 1/4 front side to cover feed. And I cut a hole for the coop.

I have not divided it yet but has crossed my mind if I did that I think id just use a large dog house for a trio as a coop/ shelter again.

Ah, the hawks and eagles could have a blast with the barrels. Good point. I'll go with the hoop coops for the stags down the road.
