I wouldn't use nothing but these on straight combs pea combs are easier havoc uses big scissors that's where I got the idea. I use the surgical type for the smaller combs, ears, wattles. But this is only my third or 4th dub and I wanted to do a quick cut on him not hack him up.

Best games I had were: dinky Mexican games I cannot remember exactly name of, but the hens constantly all day sparring in between foraging unless hawk cat snake dog etc came around to tear up, and on n off through night with beaks n spurs, but if I tried to separate they wouldn't eat and just screamed till reintroduced to which they'd all fight again terribly for week or so but attack me when tried breaking them up only. Second we're game/bantam americana that neighbors game cock got loose and would get into fellow preacher friends bantam Americana pens and yards, as they layed large eggs every day all through winter n jumbo from some but eventually killed hens laying Jumbo's, and cocks would spar sun up till sun down if I didn't separate, and start up all over at first light not eating even, but they'd kill any other rooster even large and bantam games etc anything that challenged them but ignored anything that backed down or flipped submitting or ran and killed it if it challenged again especially if it was sneak attack from one or more dumped in my yard, hens also spurred. Last but not least was Sid Taylors and mixes with.. they are great birds but babies would if incubated in machines, at hatch kill each other when not separated into lil cardboard beer bottle holders etc, and hens would kill winning mature cocks people wanted me to breed to my hens for them (most tear out eyes tongue brains etc, but one would break necks with her beak or grab by beak comb or eye socket and spur throat and chest in seconds before could remove. Had couple guys bring me sperm to bast in females, and I'm not sure how they got or why I'd bast my females backsides with.. but the mean hatchlings went for three to five hundred a buddy said who would pre pay hundred dollars an egg when set in Bator for whole lot taking the chicks when I'd made sure they were healthy, and supposedly they'd win sparring, but those birds were eventually forbidden from entering certain derbies etc tournaments because they'd just kill other birds in one to three tops snapping of fingers in Tijuana think was and some sabong, and no one would bet against them being bad sport. Eventually someone broke into his place stealing handful of birds or more and set fire to his place, but the thieves got tore open horribly apparently guy said as those birds were extremely aggressive to outsiders they didn't yet trust and tore one guys eye out nose open and lip apart that tried taking out of his hands once. So this Sid mix I'll breed to some gamey layer hens (redbar Dom's etc). see what young do as far as laying (females are jumbo layers of one or more eggs daily) producing meat (they're just bones with feathers constantly eating, vet said if I'm getting nine jumbo eggs daily from five hens that they are extremely healthy unless start seeing signs obviously otherwise as am former vet assistant), foraging, and protecting selves (these hens will attack chasing Hawks that attack and get jumped chased for fourth acre at least). These hens have no spurs but fight with each other constantly, and attack cat dogs ducks me etc everything when get out of pen, fed or something comes up to pen. Had a fox get into pen one morning and his face got tore up pretty bad and later think he died or killed by half Maine Coon cat she, half jaguarundy (he always stalked and attacked chasing the two male red foxes that started calling and stayed at start of their breeding season trying to get at my rabbits quail and pigeons before they disappeared that day) or half potbelly/boar pig, as found half of fox tail and bones outside den pig n cats were playing around that day, and later found fox fur n bones under the chickens coop. Let me just state I like watching sparring for strongest cock etc but don't think it's dumb luck game having weapons on legs wings and beak, even removing spurs.. but I like I admit, trimming them for function, as birds had to dub with razor then vet glue wounds, have been extremely better feeding selves watching for preds and keeping warmer in winter, and healthier generally for some reason, but then again natural game and island jungle foul/pheasant breeds are pea combed close waddled and loved, but interbreeding with three main land Asian jungle foul has slaughtered that natural part of them. I like feathering of American gamefoul and Mexican gamefoul flow and carriage over Asian gamfoul, but would love to try out asil as pets and farm birds, but haven't accepted any of show stock offered recent this and last year before ended up anyway with rescue chickens. Probably should have just accepted trio of adult Asil, chicks poults and eggs. I got a pair of gorgeous show OEGBs to hatch quail eggs and raise as project (I used to breed courturnix quail to go wild roosting foraging hiding nesting and raising chicks, just for fun.. thought I'd try again and use OEGBs initially instead of fluffier breeds doves pigeons n Bator).

Always gotta check what is beyond your target lol. Tore that bolt to pieces.
plan was for it to rest comfortably in the woods didn't make it that far. Also since it's sighted for 30yds and never shot those broadheads and 20' away i went for center mass not knowing how it was gonna react

3 blade heads like that do some damage. Hunting st night with a red light is fun. I used to go out all the time with the shotgun. Pretty cool to have a gray fox come charging in to the call in the middle of the night. Red foxes are harder they’ll circle downwind and usually too far out but a lot of times you’ll catch their eyes swinging around you. Call in a lot of owls at night, hawks at dusk and dawn. Raccoons will come to a call too. Raccoon pups on an E caller works well. I’ve caught coyotes circling downwind of me too but they’ve always busted me one way or another.

If I was an ol timer or it was still legal I wouldn't be looking for the ones that killed within a few hits or birds that were mean and unmanageable by myself not toward other birds. I'd be looking for the ones that took some knifes fought smart and then came out on top that tells a lot more about a bird than simple luck. And it's the ones that kept good % of wins and that could breed reliable offspring that we still hear about and acquire to this day not the lucky ones that made a main winner once a one and done instant with unreliable offspring just to fail and fall off the face of the earth which isn't worth a fart in a whirl wind in my mind.

A lot of folks still hack but that isn't even close to a big main, but what do I know this is only my opinion if it was the good old days.
