For interest / gamefowl to persist, their should be a pattern of more younger folks than older into games. That is not what I see. Same problem as in agriculture as a whole.Some how or some way, there's got to be a way to get the kids to enjoy having gamefowl or the gamefowl will slowly but surely disappear.
Very true and the interest I see from young people today is different than when I was a kid. The hunting part I think is essential if young birds are to be reared free-range. Some can be reared in confinement, take away the selection pressure of free-range will take away some of what is part of games. There is almost no hunting here and predators of concern are getting too chummy with my rearing facilities.I had never heard of gamefowl until I was 15.
And I have never hunted an animal in my life....* except maybe a gopher.
