They actually have little laces tied in a bow. That’s when you know your getting old when all you have to open under the tree is a pair of damn slippers aka house shoes.

Nevermind bastard got a stag, and I have a rumpless pullet. Hawks, foxes and tigers oh my. I’m ready to drop the hammer and reign this place in. Getting outta control around here.

To make matters even worse I can’t find my peacock! What the hell? My wife said he was in his tree this morning.
Over the years I have had other peacocks and pea hens just show up and then wander off but he’s always stayed. He’s about 6yrs old so I have no idea.

Got woke up this morning around 12:45 to the sound of a hen running for her life.
That fast paced cackling. Jumped up and grabbed the shotgun and ran out in my house shoes. Saw the eyes of a fox briefly in the red light halo. Bastard is coming from directly across the street through the woods ( not my property) he didn’t get anything but must’ve been real damn close. I could use some more fox tail hair for some flies anyway but they’re starting to annoy me.

Where you prepared? I always have a flashlite that dims, pants go on backwards or not at all and pockets to deep or tight to find rounds needed for rifle.

Yeah I was out the door in 20 seconds, boxer shorts and a t shirt. Shotgun is up against the back door with red light and pressure switch attached shells are nearby up high on a shelf.
Not a single feather from Jeepers the peacock in the yard. No way something got him without dropping a feather.

Bullsh*t. It was 28 degrees. Lol. I guess they do since my peacock just showed up one day. He was real young, less than six months according to the mail lady.

I have darted to barn in nothing but skivies and shoes when below 0 F. Pain involved.

Neighbor a couple miles away has some peafowl leave every year. Their peahens nest in fields over a what looks like a 160 acres of lightly wooded pasture. Some I think get taken by Bobcatsas those get Turkies too.

I made mention to my wife last night that the eyes I saw in the light seemed a little high off the ground for a fox and as soon as I hit him with the light I heard him run off through the woods. From where I was standing he was probably 60-70 yds and across the road inside the wood line. Sure hope it ain’t a coyote. I haven’t seen any real close but I’ve heard em occasionally.
