Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

I do not know but I know she has cut her flock to 25. Yikes. I know she will keep her barred rocks too. I wish she would come back and talk to us some. She may still have some of her Dells. She worked so hard on them and the shape is sure better than any I have seen before. Mine from her have still a lot of smut but they are nice hens. I have 10 new babies that I hatched this yr. I had a set of 4 then the other 6. The first are devided 2 each sex. I will keep the best rooster. I am afraid I have become to attached to my first rooster to give him up , sooo I will never be a proper breeder. He is just such a gentleman.

Thanks for the link!

Is Kathy around, still breeding them herself?
I believe she still has the line but is not pushing it. Kathy and husband are both retired now and seem to be kicking back a little to enjoy life.
She deserves it .
There are about two handfuls that have the line in F4 and have bred and are on F5 stage now. The foundation is good on this line coming from heritage stock.
Working on selective breeding to keep type and improve color marking.
Seems I can remember reading lots of your posts when I was researching Delawares and reading all the Del posts LOL
There is also another thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/882979/breeding-delawares-to-the-standard-of-perfection
Most that have Kathyinmo line are on the one Marcy mentioned

Your location would help and try the threads on Delawares from Kathyinmo and Delawares to the standard of perfection
Also there is link to the Delaware club which I understand is just restarting at bottom of my post.

I am I utah but figure that doesn't matter much since I will have to ship in and prob not til fall. Thanks for the threads!

Comb and wattles should be bigger and brighter red on cockerels - sometimes you can tell by tail feathers- sometimes they will surprise you guessing at this age-
But my guess is pullet but hard to tell with this pic

I've seen barred tails like that go either way. If it has hatchmates, compare leg girth and posture. Is it holding itself upright and are it's legs on the thick side? Those are my go-to indicators. Feathers and combs can still be tricky at this age in some chicks.
