Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

No, I'm taking this opportunity to keep on with my downsizing plan. Thanks, though. Severus is handsome! Ike can have the main flock and Suede will be king of his domain until he passes on. When I'm down to just Ike and Zane, I'll think about whether I want another rooster or not. The Delawares are back in the coop they started in with no rooster to torment, so that will give me one less thing to worry about.

Is it possible? My Del pullets are 16 weeks old. Today I got a new egg, I am pretty sure. It is smaller than usual. I know it is a Delaware egg, from the color (which is not showing accurately on here). Could this be from one of young pullets?

Kathy, she does to me. Cannonball was about that red when she started laying and she never laid a "pullet" egg either....right into a normal sized egg.

Kathy- she looks like Cora did when she started- and that looks exactly like one of my girl's eggs- the speckles and the shape. Are you sure you didn't raid my frig yesterday?

It WAS a happy 4th till I came home at 3 and found Harriet sitting on the egg Hermione laid at about 9:00 this morning - she evidently took a break and got confused when she came back to the barn. I put her back on her eggs - it is VERY warm in the barn, because I forgot to turn the fan on when I left for church, and though the eggs were cool to the touch, I decided to chance it. Some people have still had chicks after the hen has been off for several hours, so please keep your fingers crossed.

Those naughty Del girls of Cyn's need to be in the coop with no rooster. They don't deserve one!
