Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Cetawin,
A quick thank you for that posting tip, one of these years I will get this little box figured out-
thanks, too, to you and Kathy and Cyn for looking at my post- if you check again, you will find a very embarrassed me asking about what to use for red mites. She is the only one with them, and she is the one I check the least because she is SO adverse to being handled. FIGURES!!!!

You are welcome. I am so glad that you found out what it was and are treating. YAY! It will take her a few days to get back on her feet but with some extra care and isolation she should be fine.

Hello everyone. I am considering adding some Delawares to my flock. I have decided that I want the heritage breed, not hatchery. Does anyone know where I can get some hatching eggs? Can you tell me the temperment of the chickens? Any general information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You will love your troublemakers oh I mean Dellies they are total pests come running to you and try to untie your shoes are the first to check things out love to be your buddy mine are totally entertaining even when they get out and go visiting I guess I should have taken them....they love eating grass well they love eating they grow fast and mine are 20 weeks now and very close to laying. I've had chickens before none of them compare to my Dellies and I'm not fond of White chickens but these are just beautiful with their black necklaces and tail feathers even if they love to wallow in the dust and mud and love to be misted when it gets hot...no matter if I have to clip their wings and the other day I banded them they still love me and come and want to be petted or some of them love to be picked up and held...You will enjoy your Dellies

OH, and you are in Missouri I see! I have the most beautiful Delaware rooster and lovely pullets. I can not help you out right now, as I do not have my Delawares penned. I doubt the eggs would be fertile, as my rooster has about 30 girls, and I just (this weekend) put another rooster out with them. If you are in no hurry, I could pen them later on (when it is cooler out).

I am wanting to add Delawares to my flock as well. If anyone has any hatching eggs they would like to sell, please PM me with pricing. I would like to purchase 2+ dozen. I may need to wait until the weather cools, but would like to get them reserved. I posted a similar post in the items wanted, but figured I would get a better response here.

Thanks.

That would be awesome. Thank you so very much. This way I can get the eggs without having to ship them (if thats ok with you). How much do you want for 6-8 eggs?

Good morning, Dellie lovers everywhere- I see there are more and more people coming under the Delaware spell! You will love your Dellies- they are fantastic personalities and great layers!

Kathy- I can see your avatar here at work- that is a great picture of Jacob!
