Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

That is SO true. I love Thor and Ike and Athena and Fattie and Cannonball and Severus and Suede and Ivy and Fern and Biden and Oreo and Hefner and Ginger and Livvie and Miranda and Dusty and Smokey and Phoebe and SawsAll and even those ugly unwanted Turkens of Kathy's. . . .where is the worn out smilie flat on her back from running out of breath? The closest I can come is

I am as interested in their antics as I am my own kids!

Jeremy- good luck. I am SO jealous over your BBS Orps, and I think it would be great if you got the colors you want.

Kathy- don't say the awful, dread, horrific S word. . . I have had enough of it for a lifetime! I do want to see your pens- your set up sounds SO fantastic- what a dream, to have all that!

Cynthia, weren't the last two days beautiful? I spent more time with the chickens than I did with the dogs, horses, cats, housework OR my DH all put together! DH is amazed that the chickens keep track of our movements, and run to whatever part of the run is closest to where we are. And that when I sit in the run, I am immediately covered in little white hens that want to be lapchicks.

Cetawin, what day do you leave? I want to make sure to wish you well, and keep your crew in my prayers.

We are shooting for Saturday or Sunday. I am going to post a thread in a bit with our route so I can gather some BYC help along the way should anything happen....at least somewhere I can off load the bird crates and stuff if the U-Haul breaks down or etc etc...

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around. My MIL has been in the hospital with a nasty case of Pneumonia. I've been home only for basic animal care and sleep.

My Dellies are the cutest things on the planet (except for Cocoa the baby goat) I open the coop which is chest high, and stick my hands in and I am instantly covered in little yellow and white chicks! The Barred rocks and Splash Orp keep their distance, as do the Java's. Ivan the Crazy is still hanging in there. His/Her eye is healing, much more open and watering less, and he/she is spinning less as the days go by. Perhaps there was some head trauma early in life? (that first night after he was put in with the older chicks maybe?)

The 7-9 week old Java's along with Pebbles and SawsAll are doing OK, although they aren't getting as much outdoor time as I would like. I let them out at 4 today and we went out at about 9:30 tonight to find them huddled at the side of the coop. We put them in the coop and locked them up.

Laney

Well the orps standing off is extremely normal orp behavior....and heaven forbid you pick one up....it will scream like it is being hacked up with a plastic butter knife.

I will say a prayer for your MIL Laney and keep remembering to come home and take care of yourself.

Here is the travel post so everyone can sign up on the thread or via PM to be our rescue squad... hopefully a rescue will not be necessary but our route is there...

Morning all! Its 515pm Monday here in China. I am about to leave for Shanghai.

I posted some new pix on my "I'm made it to China" thread.....check it out if you have time. Some neat stuff

Have a great day. Will post more pix from Shanghai when I get there

Laney, Prayers for your MIL! Hope you are totally recovered from your cold, too.
Don't you love the Dels, though? That totally enchanted me- I had no idea chicks could be so friendly. Some of my hens still swarm me if I sit down in the run. And I am so glad Ivan is still with you- little thing may straighten out yet!
Are you getting any of this nasty cold rain/snow mix?

Scott- glad to hear you are still posting pics- will check them out.

Cetawin, I will check your route even though I know I am no where near it.
