Kathy, is that your last hatch of the year??? You have TONS of babies in there- what fun!

I don't think Cyn could turn away a poor orphan chicken left in a basket on her door step with a note - what did people used to write- uh, "we are starving, please take our chicken", uh, I mean "baby". Just get a really nice basket with a big blue bow and leave that roo on her doorstep!

I feel like joining Kathy's enabling team today!

I gathered eggs a bit ago, and Luke crawled in a nest box and sat on one and stared at me. I still think he has something mixed up in his head.

I can not believe I am nearing a 100% hatch. I had so many eggs (I don't know how many, I can't count that high) to move out of the Sportsman into the HovaBators, I laid some on top of others! I know there are over 100. I opened the bators soooooo many times, it is ridiculous (a big no-no), to keep moving out the hatchlings and pulling out the shells, to make more room. And still, they keep hatching!!!!!!!!! This is what I look like ...

running back and forth from bators to brooders! THANK GOD most of these are sold!!!!!!! Anybody looking for Jersey Giant chicks?

From last week I still have 16 Delawares, and they should be moving out later this week.

OMG !!!! The swap has not started yet and I have 2 little adorable Mille's (Cheyenne just HAD to have them) and my 3 little silkies SLEEPING IN CHEYENNE'S ROOM

Oh good lord help me please.


Oh and that porcelain....Dexter. OMG what a hoot he is. He is downstairs in my garage and what a character. Thor walked over to the garage door and looked in at him from a distance and Dexter was not too sure about that BIG ole thang checking him out and then Thor turned and walked away....Severus on the other hand wanted to whoop up on little rooster and snuck by me to mess with Dexter....Dexter removed a couple feathers from big ole Severus from inside a dog crate.

wegotchickens saved Severus....she scooped him up and took him back outside away from garage. I will get a pic of Dexter tomorrow...he is something else. I think a basket, bow and note is a brilliant idea. Dexter would like Cyn and Georgia....he would really like Shadow for sure.

Pics to come tomorrow. I am currently boiling eggs for deviled eggs and making sweet and sour meatballs for the swap lunch tomorrow....pics and more pics to come in the evening.

See? Cyn already loves him and she's only seen a picture- the bow , basket and note should do her in entirely! He is a handsome boy, Shadow will LOVE him.

Kathy- that is an amazing hatch- from over 100 eggs you hardly have anything left to come out! I BET you were running back and forth like a madwoman- did you get any sleep these last couple of days?

All these cute babies!!! Ha! Well, next spring WILL come. . . . .

Ain't he is just adorable Cyn? See shadow would love him. Lori and I played mean trick on my DH....she had the 8 babies in her lap (5 of which I now have) and she had a cage with the ones 2 weeks old in the back....I told hubby to come unload my new babies. He said which ones....I said these here and the ones up front. He, being the sweetie that he is kept composure and said "ALL of them?" Lori and I died lauging.

Cheyenne has walked around all morning with one the Millie babies sitting on her shoulder in her hair. Those Milles are gonna be rotten.


Beth...if she would take him for Shadow, I would snatch him up right this second. He is just a doll. He was clucking away for his women to come share the boiled egg I gave him...but his women are in TN...he was trying to feed them though.

He is the most precious little guy, but I have to be strong! So far, my policy has served me well and I can't become wishy-washy, no matter how adorable Dexter is. And I even love the name. Oh, pooh.

Trust me, Shadow has an attitude of her own, which has kept her surviving in the Coop of Giants. She'll take on any one of the big girls when the situation calls for it.
