If eggs dont ship well. How are baby chicks with shipping or am i better off looking for some local. I just want a male peacock but i want to raise it as a baby.

It's no different shipping Peacock eggs than it is shipping chicken eggs. You always run the risk that the PO will shake them up. I sent 2 boxes of 6 eggs to @casportpony in CA last summer, one batch 5/6 developed and 4 of those hatched, the second batch had some develop but none hatched, those were very late season eggs though. One lone chick will not be very happy, you will need some company for him.

The 2 white males in my avatar have been together since they were chicks, they are also bachelors having never had a hen in their pen with them. They are about 6 years old now and have done fine, during the breeding season the more dominant one will display for the other and he can be a bit grumpy with him, but nothing too problematic. It may depend on individual personality to a certain extent, but I have heard of quite a few people who had a pair of boys with no problems. Free ranging could be a different story as they may up and leave in search of mates.
Man, if someone wanted a super tame house bird, my poor blind cameo would probably love it. She is so sweet when I pick her up, she just waits for me to do whatever with her. Although come to think of it, she needs a chicken to hear food bowl and water bowl noises.
My first peafowl ever years ago were a pair of males I obtained from Alex Ancona (a well know peafowl man here in Michigan) and those boys grew up never fighting with each other. Neither acted dominant over the other. You should be fine if you keep em penned up. Especially if they grow up together. If you choose to free range them you may have issues if they decide they need to go find a lady friend and take off on you.

i got my ib male and two whites from alex...and alot of my pheasants from him as well....was there not to long ago...very good breeder indeed
