I talk to her almost every day. She is selling a lot of her birds because since her hubby left she has had to go back to work and she doesn't have the time to care for them. I have told her repeatedly that I will come get these birds but she says no, they are ones that she dearly loves and wants to keep.Quote:Can you bend over so I can kick you too?I did not know he was a WE until he grew his train in. I kick myself a thousand times for letting him go to my friends house because now she is going through a divorce and I am not sure if I will actually get this lovely bird and his hen back or not. I am pretty sure his mate is a BS as well, she is very light.
I have faith that nothing will happen to them but they live about 2 hours from me and I do not get to visit. I have begged to get them back but am assured they are fine where they are at. These are the only 2 photos I have seen of him since last fall.
CALL YOUR FRIEND NOW AND ASK ABOUT THE BIRD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()

DO NOT ASSUME that these birds will be ok with this divorce. When people go through divorces, they don't care about the pets. They are mad at the other spouse and just want out of the marriage or whatever. Some even make it their business to hurt the other if a pet is involved by doing nasty things. I would hate for you to talk to your friend years from now and they said that they threw these beautiful birds out to pasture or just let them lose because nobody wanted them and that you could have had the birds but they didn't think that you would want them back or they didn't think to call you. That would hurt your heart. FOLLOW your first mind and CALL THEM. A phone call will not hurt but a future heart break knowing that you could have prevented a misfortune will and had the birds returned back to you will.Do you want to feel that guilt the rest of your life? Have I give you enough of a guilt trip that you will call?????????????????
Please keep us posted after you make that phone call.![]()

I totally understand. And 4 hours IS a long drive. We will just hope that she does the right thing and has the best interest of your birds.I talk to her almost every day. She is selling a lot of her birds because since her hubby left she has had to go back to work and she doesn't have the time to care for them. I have told her repeatedly that I will come get these birds but she says no, they are ones that she dearly loves and wants to keep. They helped me work on some pea pens and we had to move some birds so I let her take them to her house. I told her I was willing to let her keep them as long as I got chicks or eggs from them. She says they have laid about 6 eggs this year and none were fertile..... huh. These are photos that she took. I probably sound like a broken record to her and may have made her mad by constantly saying I would be happy to come get the peas since she needs to cut back. I don't care, I just want the Opals safe and sound. I have a feeling I will eventually be going down to get them. Working a job and caring for a kid is going to be rough. I keep thinking I may just drive down anyhow. But 4 hours plus out of my day is difficult. Can you bend over so I can kick you too?I did not know he was a WE until he grew his train in. I kick myself a thousand times for letting him go to my friends house because now she is going through a divorce and I am not sure if I will actually get this lovely bird and his hen back or not. Makes we want to get an opal spalding peacock for my opal spalding hen. Is he opal white eye and his hen opal blackshoulder?![]()

Who knows maybe you will get them back eventually. It is good to be positive. I absolutely love the peacock so I checked on Craigslist to see what peafowl are for sale. I found a listing with an opal white eyed peacock listed as a silver peacock. Someone else has shown interest but I asked the seller to talk to the other buyer who is getting two other birds. If all goes well my opal spalding hen will have a new boyfriend in a few days! I could give you some eggs from them...
