Got this cup from a Coal mine tour in Southern Illinois. (now closed to tours) Here is a link to the story about President Jimmy Carter"s visit there in 1980.

The bread is a Sourdough I occasionally get, since it is not in the usual store we do shopping.

Better keep your tv or radio turned on and your shoes on your feet. I grew up in Kansas and tornados are nothing to get lazy about. (And you can keep all the Wiz of Oz and Dorothy and Toto cracks to yourself missy!)

When I graduated high school, I was living somewhere in Ohio. We had tornado drills weekly. I remember timing my steps, so that I would always be near the special education department. They were shortstaffed as it was, and there was one girl in particular they could not control during the drills. She was sobbing, they were reprimanding her for not staying down... I held her to my side, and sang “Jesus Loves Me” quietly in her ear.
