We got it from a local Company called Cheney Bros. They are a restaurant food distributor but they have a tiny store set up in the warehouse. Kinda cool. Close outs/over stocks/scratch and dents. S&D's are crazy cheap.I can't remember which of you posted instructions for making your own bacon, but thanks a whole heck of a lot. Now guess what Ken wants me to do..... So what size pork belly, how much salt, sugar, brown sugar and lemon cure? (Where the heck do I even FIND lemon cure - online?)
With that in front of me, during interrogation, I would admit to crimes I did not commit.Gladly! Taco soup could not be easier. It's in no way A from scratch meal, but it never disappoints especially on a cold or busy day.
Ingredients:
Ground beef or venison browned. I use at least 2 lbs.
1-2 cans whole kernel corn drained
1 large can of chilli beans undrained
1 can black beans drained
2 cans rotel tomatos drained
2 packs taco seasoning (you can use homemade taco seasoning if you have your own mixed up)
2 packs ranch mix
2 cups water
(I would like to point out I honestly don't know 2 people who make their taco soup the same so this is just how I like it)
Directions: brown and strainmeat -you can season your meat as well based on personal preference or add onion and garlic, put back in the pot add water and all canned ingredients, I usually premix my taco and seasonings in the side in a little cold water to assure no clumping - than I add that in too. Bring to boil and simmer for at least 20-30 minutes- the longer the better.
Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream and Fritos or crackers.
Enjoy!
We are leftover chili tonight lol.. Rethinking how though.. What did you put in yours?I made chili tonight. It was REALLY GOOD, but most definitely not photo contest worthy. Lol. Maybe I'll do something good by the 15th but I doubt it as hubby leaves for work tomorrow and I don't do much good cooking while he's gone. Can't wait to see your posts though!
