So far it's been in the high '50s and '60s during the day and at night it hasn't dropped lower than 29. I'm pretty shocked at the growth rate of these chicks. Hopefully I can add them to the layer flock in another month once I know for sure that the ones I pick are pullets.Ah, yes. The Halloween hatch. Mine are in the coop. They were on the porch for a few days, and it was pointless to keep them restricted to the brooder. Before that, they were in the house where it was 60-66* for them since two weeks. They got lucky. I occasionally toss week olds out in the winter.

I honestly don't follow them either. I put chicks outside last year when they were 8 weeks old and it was 13 at nightSeriously, don’t take my jabber as judgement. I know the recommendation for temps and introductions. I just don’t follow them.
