Decided to make Buckwheat as a side for dinner. Most peeps just follow instructions on box. I make mine with seasonings probably most have never duplicated before.
Basic directions on box. Makes it OK but I consider it short on flavor.
Bring 2x quantity of water to boil
Add salt. Add 1x quantity of Buckwheat.
Lower heat and simmer until all liquid absorbed. (about 20 minutes)

I measured out contents of full bag. Now I know to add 2 cups of water same level.

Added one egg. stirred it into dry content to coat each grain.

This is how it looked when moistened by egg. Now I put on heat and continuously kept stirring nonstop until all grains became dry again and coated. About 4 minutes or so. Removed from heat temporarily.![]()
Next step was to prepare seasonings. Note second pix is to show what I used. Some of the contents of dish bowl can be confused for the herbs now legal in California recently.
