Decided to make Buckwheat as a side for dinner. Most peeps just follow instructions on box. I make mine with seasonings probably most have never duplicated before.
Basic directions on box. Makes it OK but I consider it short on flavor.
Bring 2x quantity of water to boil
Add salt. Add 1x quantity of Buckwheat.
Lower heat and simmer until all liquid absorbed. (about 20 minutes)

Here is play by play,,,,,,,
I measured out contents of full bag. Now I know to add 2 cups of water same level.

Added one egg. stirred it into dry content to coat each grain.

This is how it looked when moistened by egg. Now I put on heat and continuously kept stirring nonstop until all grains became dry again and coated. About 4 minutes or so. Removed from heat temporarily.

Next step was to prepare seasonings. Note second pix is to show what I used. Some of the contents of dish bowl can be confused for the herbs now legal in California recently.:gig

I enlarged this one for clarity,,,,,

Combined everything, brought to boil, stirred all together, then I covered and simmered at low heat until all liquid absorbed.
This is what it looked like when I fluffed it up after cooking.

Added what was around in the fridge to make a dinner plate,,

A variation to tease the taste buds. :)

Sorry, all my gluten sensitive comrades, I toasted up some garlic bread and cut into finger shapes so we could wipe up the dripped sauce off of the plates.

Too much for my belly.. I got sleepy fast.

Left them in the toaster a tad too long but never the less, I got them out at the edge of disaster. I was making the salads and lapsed from multitasking. Super toasted lol.
