SHOW OFF YOUR YUM! Food Photography Thread

Last evening went Traditional Southern BBQ.
Split Chicken quarters. First seared over flame then slid over smoked indirect heat enclosed in the grill.

Seasoned with simple sea salt & cracked black peppercorn.

Slow cooked with real Hickory and Oak wood/no charcoal.

When complete, the meat is stained pink and falls right off the bone.

Pinto beans stewed into a homemade baked bean sauce (previously made in bulk and portioned in freezer) added onion petals, bacon chunks used up a couple of beef franks in a pack left over from lunch.

Not from scratch but from box and made a little cornbread to complement the meal. Added a hint of honey and sprinkle of brown sugar.

Time to undo the top button of your pants!
Yes real butter in the cornbread...

Prior to dinner I baked some cakes for the ice cream desert. I was too stuffed to take a pick of the ice cream lol.. I was down for the count..

I dislike beans so i would use black olives instead.

Any kind of meat would work instead of the beans.

I heart the presentation! Remind me to invite myself to dinner at your place sometime..

Thanks! You know you're always welcome on the broom. Just be warned that we always eat roughly the same 10 meals in rotation, so after a few more pix I wont have anything interesting to post. (This is why I had to recuse myself from the Grandpa whats for dinner thread, with my head held down in shame.) I'm the queen of the one dish meals.

Everyone rotates! We pretty much eat the same but find new sides of combinations. Every once in awhile experiment with something new/bold or uncharted waters.. lol.
I love to bake new stuff. That is exicting for me.

We processed 3 whole young pigs into total sausage. Meaning.. all the good lean meat went into it. The loin, ham, chops.. everything. (Traditional sausage is all the leftover scraps) That is what we would use with that dish.. along with refried beans, black olives and jalapinos

I love new ideas for dinner! Last night we had a green salad with beets, garbanzo beans, black olives and shredded cheese with home made buttermilk ranch dressing. So refreshing and good! Then the main course was a mashed potato chicken and biscuit casserole. Quite tasty. Tonight...leftovers!
yummy yummy... snap a pic tonite!
Thanks for sharing

A quick & simple meal tonight. Got a container of Tom Sauce out of the freezer we made from reduced plumb tomatoes and our basil, added sum spices/cumin/mustard along w/our farm raised ground sausage and Sloppy Joe-ed it 2-nite.. Deep fried sum crinkle fries.. and time to relax..
