Dumplings are as easy as pancakes!

No mixes in my house
Run by a quick recipe, or ingredients used in your DUMPLINGS... There are numerous possibilities for dumplings. The ones I commonly do make are from cooked/mashed potatoes, eggs, and flour plus salt to taste. I do purchase such, but did state in a post maybe 500 post ago, that mine I prefer because I use a larger percentage of potatoes VS flour. The purchased ones used more flour percentage.

In my soup was a purchased loaded dumpling. I like its' dough properties, as to being made with a very large percentage potato. It is also stuffed with cheese and potato mixture.

And all this discussion about potatoes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, just gave me craving to make some potato pancakes,,,, :drool:drool:drool

First, I really appreciate the support. I feel bad about the way they look. I was afraid to post to be honest.
Second, the picture I saw actually looks like mine if not a little odder shaped. So I tried to comfort myself in the fact that I didn’t completely fail.
I will try again, and believe I’ll do much better. One recipe, no little one underfoot (at least I’ll wait until she’s in a cooperative mood), and I won’t try breads on a humid day again!
First of all, they DO NOT LOOK BAD. Taste is all that is important anyways.
You must take into consideration that the ones you purchase at store are machine made. Each one is popped out and IDENTICAL (almost) to the rest. Same with donuts, they are machine produced to be uniform size and shape.
When you make something by hand, naturally it will be shaped different.

She says she doesn’t like spray cheese. That’s okay. She likes hotdogs. I can put cheese on mine to make it palatable. Actually, it’s great on chili cheesedogs.
:hmm Another food I’d never dreamed of eating before I got married.
Her breakfast. Don’t worry. We’re just trying new foods. The rest of the day won’t be overly processed foods.

OMG! THEY'RE WEARING TIGGER SUITS!!! :love:wee:love

Alright, tonight's dish might be a bit frowned upon for some chicken lovers... But, we had an aspiring rooster in an area that does not allow it, so we asked a friend to raise it for the last six weeks and did a full on taste test!

Store bought on the top, organic on the bottom, and home grown on the left!
Not surprisingly, the store bought only had two good qualities. Easy to prep and easy to eat. The organic had better flavor but the home grown was the best. At 17 weeks, our cockerel was not very tough at all,but much smaller then the other two.
