I actually like my own chili. My mother didn’t know about peppers, and never knew we all liked spicy food (she kept food plain trying to appease her seven children). My husband added stale beer and God knows what else!

Ma never made chilie or anything close, Grandma cooked like grandpa was still alive with awful ulcers boiling all meat dead
 
Mom's basic run of the mill Chili Recipe:
1# ground beef
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of tomato soup
onion petals
green pepper slices
paprika
chill powder
salt
black pepper

Basic foundation for a quick and simple supper.
I/we add diced or whole toms, tom sauce. Spices(heat) etc.

I use a stew meat from Costco and a can of v- 8 spicy, and 2 Jalapeno no seed's
 
I can’t make chili until I get my garden to produce more than the three tomatoes I got last year. I can’t remember, but I think it rained too much last summer.
I have a 4 oz jar of chili I’m hoarding in the cabinet. I’m so afraid to use it. :oops:
heard! I love reducing toms.. Got some left from last season.
 
have to admit the kid will not eat tomato's unless it is salsa and I have never been when to like the stewed type so we fit that way I will gag them down he pull's them out to side of his plate he dislikes the so
