I actually like my own chili. My mother didn’t know about peppers, and never knew we all liked spicy food (she kept food plain trying to appease her seven children). My husband added stale beer and God knows what else!
Mom's basic run of the mill Chili Recipe:
1# ground beef
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of tomato soup
onion petals
green pepper slices
paprika
chill powder
salt
black pepper
Basic foundation for a quick and simple supper.
I/we add diced or whole toms, tom sauce. Spices(heat) etc.

heard! I love reducing toms.. Got some left from last season.I can’t make chili until I get my garden to produce more than the three tomatoes I got last year. I can’t remember, but I think it rained too much last summer.
