SHOW OFF YOUR YUM! Food Photography Thread

I'm experimenting. Remember when there was extra pie crust and your mom let you sprinkle it with cinnamon and sugar and bake? I loved doing that and sometimes we'd make pinwheel cookies with brown sugar and butter just for those alone.

I'm trying the pinwheels with a sticky bun mix in the bottom of the pan. We shall see, I'm a bit concerned about the sweet factor. They smell good though.

We used to do the leftover pie crust the same way! That was always a treat.

Another thing mom used to do was use left over cake frosting spread on graham crackers. Yum! Not sure I'd like it now, but thought that was the best part of mom baking a cake when I was a kid.

Hope your pinwheels turn out good!

You mean like this? View attachment 1630223 No, best not. He might decide he likes it and then I wouldn't have the time or energy to do the dishes. :gig

Last night was a bit of a grab bag since the weather was so lousy grocery shopping didn't happen. So we had homemade mac & cheese with shrimp cocktail chasers :)

This morning we had bagels (with some tasty kalamata olive/feta cheese spread), ham & eggs.

Yea, some guys! :gig

Sounds like you had meals we'd come up with for similar reasons. Those can be the best sometimes:)

I forgot to make cole slaw. :thDoes anybody have a good cabbage salad recipe?

This is more or less the one I make for our bbq restaurant (scaled way down). This is not a sweet salad.

1 shredded green cabbage
1 shredded carrot
2 Tablespoons minced onion
2 Tablespoons white vinegar
2 Tablespoons mayo
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2-1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon celery seed

Mix the cabbage and carrot together. Mix the remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over the cabbage & carrot.

Best if it sits in the fridge overnight.
Adjust the seasonings to your taste, add more mayo if you like the salad "wetter".

Thanks! That's very similar to mine. I do put a tiny bit of sugar & buttermilk in mine too. Also a little bit of dried mustard & balsamic vinegar. I like it to sit at least 2 days, but went ahead & mixed it up. Its going to be very crunchy.

Never liked coleslaw but your recipe with 2 tblsp maybe do it with Mustard instead
saving the recipe to give it a try.. this is what I did this morning told you think making pizza tonight

Yep! :highfive:

Then we watched a dvd we hadn't seen before, "Forsaken". It was a western with Donald and Keifer Sutherland in it...pretty good!

Did you enjoy your NYE IM?

That sounds like a relaxing evening NFC. We've seen that movie and agree with your opinion :highfive:

I didn't sleep well the night before and worked yesterday so I didn't do anything but sleep. I enjoyed that though
