That is interesting! I thought Tylan was strictly for respiratory. Well, I guess any drug is not strictly for... anything. I wonder if it works for E.Coli? I've got Tylan on hand. I'll do some digging around to see about that and in the mean time I will call the state vet... thanks for the info!
One of our turks succumbed to pulmonary E. Coli (extremely heavy rain pretty much atomized run surface and the tom refused to go in shed - so inhaled the mist). This is the drug susceptibility table of the necroscopy report from the VetPathLab at MU:

So then would you switch her today to the Tylan? Regard less I've got 20 minutes before the state lab opens and will call to get this ball rolling. I want to save her so bad! But, hey she made it through another night!!! Thank goodness!
The above chart shows E.coli drug resistance. The Tylan was to treat clostridium perfringens in necrotic enteritis, in which some studies said worked. Many drugs treat this--this is a drug she has at home already. She thought her chicken had liver problems. I later thought she might have E.coli sepsis because her chicken has just developed some eye swelling, but has become very ill with dark spots on the legs, yellow coloring of the comb and skin, blood in stools last week. The Neomycin was suggested for the E.Coli, but it would be best to know what exactly is wrong, I agree, so that is why I suggested the state vet.
