I love my Silkies! They are smart enough to avoid the hawks that fly over and warn the rest of my flock of danger. I free range my flock all day and everyone comes running at dusk for treats and to be put up for the night.

Anyone else here had issues with chicks heads getting crushed by older ones?

So I've always had mixed ages in my brooder with absolutely no issues but now I've had three of my youngest chicks die because their heads were crushed by the others

Now I've lost two lovely whites and one partridge
