It's a long drop for the ducklings to get down out of tree that high that is not over water.... How are they going to get down?

That is pretty cool! What kind of duck is that? I don't think up here we have any that nest in trees other than the wood duck.

It's a Muscovy and I think they belong in the wood duck family.

Umm that's a good question . From what I have read the babies just jump out of the tree and start flying. I watched some videos on it as well.

Here's another one, but with geese. Given that (from what I have gathered, at least) muscovy are closely related to Egyptian Geese as well, this sort of fits. The day old fluff balls can do impressive things, let's we are underestimating them

It truly is shocking, but just goes to show how resilient these animals can be! Sometimes, we should trust nature more, I think that has been my biggest lesson this year

I had thoughts about Muscovy ducks until I got side tracked with silkies. I think silkies have won out. I think in May or June I need to fill an incubator full of just silkie eggs and let nature take its course.
