What a great photo :love

She fell in the pool one hot summer day and was floating around. So since she wasn't panicking, neither did I. I got my phone and snapped a photo before I took her out.

I did have a leghorn fall in the pool in October and die before I could get to her. I believe hypothermia was involved as she was still floating when I was able to get to her. It took no time at all. It was devastating.

It was very sad. That's why they can't free range alone anymore, and it's been years.
ya, we dont let the chickens out of the run... , Wednesday we were getting ready to go to our sons and I heard this loud screeeeeeeching......... Zive started to bark, so i said good girl and we went out and HELLO! there were 2 very large young eagles ( they didnt have white on their heads yet) in the pine by the coop-- the hens were in the coop hiding,, so I went and shut the door since we were leaving.
