She fell in the pool one hot summer day and was floating around. So since she wasn't panicking, neither did I. I got my phone and snapped a photo before I took her out.

I did have a leghorn fall in the pool in October and die before I could get to her. I believe hypothermia was involved as she was still floating when I was able to get to her. It took no time at all. It was devastating.
:th:hit

My leghorns (all my chickens, really, but especially my leghorns) aren’t that friendly. They come over by me, but as soon as I put my hand out they run.
We call my trio of white leghorns the crazy white ladies
When we get new chicks, I keep them in the house, I pick them up, like new puppies. I talk to them and like this last flock, I put them out in the coo at 2 weeks.
I went out 2 to 4 times a day. I think it takes training.
Here they are 2 weeks old DSCN1877 (2).JPG

and here 3 weeks

DSCN0171.JPG Well, the morning light is quickly slipping away as we start getting things ready for winter. It takes longer to get things done these days. The mind says do it all in one day, and the body says, no, lets cut this list in half. My husband got the Rustolium deck restore off that we and 1000's others sadly put on our deck 7 years ago. We tried everything, it took a pressure washer DSCN0338.JPG
So Today he is going to rent a big sander.
DSCN0341.JPG and then use the Olympic Deck Oil on it.
