I have had no luck freezing beans. If they stay crisp they taste like hay. Blanching a little longer they taste better but you lose the color and texture. The last ones I froze I ended up composting. I don’t even buy frozen green beans.I can tomatoes, but not cherry toms. Those are for snacking. I have dehyrated them, and they were... ok.
I freeze beans, instead of canning. I prefer freezing because I like the texture better. I might can some this year, just to see if that's still the case.![]()
DH and I decided we like canned green beans just fine. We don’t compare them to fresh beans, we consider them a different species.
